With the UK's internet censorship scheme rolling out, enforcing a 'nanny knows best' view of what we should be allowed to see online, and at the same time blocking access to important sites, like LGBT health information, or support for abuse survivors, I've collected together some of the writing that I've done on the subject over the last few years.
At the moment, BLUF is based in the UK. We don't yet have a full picture of how this will affect us, and if, for instance, UK members will have to contact their internet provider and tell them that they want "porn switched on" just to be able to access the site. The system is expected to be operational on most internet connections in the UK early next year.
You can find my writing on the subject here.
We'd like very much to hear from UK members when the filter is enabled on their accounts, and whether or not they have to specifically turn it off to be able to access BLUF.
